What is dimensional weight?
DIM weight estimates how much space a package occupies. Carriers bill the greater of actual weight and DIM weight so light, bulky boxes pay for the cube they take.
What is the UPS DIM divisor?
UPS domestic shipments commonly use a divisor of 139 (inches). International and contract rates can differ. Enter Custom if your invoice shows another divisor.
USPS vs UPS DIM?
USPS Priority Mail often uses 166. UPS/FedEx domestic often use 139. A lower divisor produces a higher DIM weight for the same box.
Do carriers round dimensions?
Many round each dimension up to the next whole inch before applying the formula. FreightKit shows ceil-based DIM to mirror that behavior.
